We design activities and assemble materials for Dyslexia Awareness Events.
However, they could equally well be used throughout the year to keep the importance of respecting difference at the forefront of people’s minds. Or they could be incorporated into a wider initiative designed to earn the school a dyslexia-friendly quality mark from the Established Dyslexia Association.
- The activities can be used in any order and with any age group.
- The stories are aimed at younger children but could be adapted to make them age-appropriate for older pupils. (Many thanks to some of the children who attend the our Support Centre for the colourful illustrations.)
- The examples of famous people with dyslexia who achieved great things are just a few of many.
- Celebrity profiles could be supplemented by contributions from staff or pupils with dyslexia who have positive experiences they are willing to share.
